Dogs, Swimming, and New Glasses!

Well this past week we got to spend sometime with our favorite doggies out at Tim and Christine's house! They travel alot and so we get to stay at their house when they go and watch their dogs and basically veg out. They have about a billion channels on their TV, a pool, and a hot tub so we really enjoy our time their! Not to mention that they pay us!!
Introducing...

Baxter and Ruger!!

We also spent some time swimming while we were there....

We also enjoyed the wildlife that ventured into their backyard...and their bird feeder, let me emphasize BIRD feeder.

AND...Christopher got some new glasses!! Here's a pic of what his new specs look like! The best part about the glasses (Chris is making me put this in here, eventhough I'm a bit embarassed about it) So the best part is that he found them on the STREET last summer when he was working at the Nazarene Publishing House. His job was to work the grounds and picking up trash was part of the daily routine. So one day he literally stumbled upon these frames, still with the Perry Ellis lenses in them. (And freshly stolen from some Lenscrafters I'm sure...)

Summer Reading

Ok y'all I have been reading some pretty good books this summer and just wanted to share!! Now, there is a little disclaimer to this first series...IT IS COMPLETELY FOR FUN. I would in no way recommend this to anyone looking for a serious read. OH yes, and be prepared to be mocked endlessly by your husband. Without further a due (?)...

The Shopaholic Series

If you haven't heard of it already, it is a series of books starting with this one Confessions of a Shopaholic about a British compulsive shopper named Becky Bloomwood. The series has about 5 or 6 books ( I think) and they are all absolutely hilarious!

Now if you are in the mood for a more serious read I would recommend Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. All of the books I have read by her are absolutely gripping and this one is no different. This book is about a highschool shooting and all that takes place before and after. This book really made me think about myself as a teacher and how much influence I have that I don't even realize. Its a page turner y'all!

Happy Reading!

Weekend Wrap Up

Well this past weekend we house/baby sat for a sweet family we know from our old church and my school. They have an 8 and 16 year old so it made for a pretty easy weekend. We ate at Panera, saw Kung Fu Panda, swam at their country club pool and put things on the "tab". Yea, they have a "tab". Craziness.
The best part of the weekend came when we were standing outside with the little girl and Chris was trying to get some "fuzz" out of her hair. We soon found out that it wasn't "fuzz" but rather...HEAD LICE! Super! So I got to go to CVS and buy this kit and for almost 2 hours comb little lice buggies out of this girls hair. All the while she's playing her Nintendo DS and asking "Are you almost done?...Are you almost done?" I could tell this must have been a HUGE inconvenience for her. Let me tell you...it was joyous for me. Anyway, we are very thankful to be back in our (lice free) house and done with the babysitting for awhile.

A Few More Pics...

Well one to be exact. I forgot to mention Landon and Stacy's reception! Landon and Stacy got married in May in TN and had their Texas reception over the July Fourth weekend. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

OH yes...and I wanted to mention that I am doing some blog designing! So if you are interested, let me know!!

It's Been Awhile...

Ok...so I gave my blog a makeover!! And that got me excited about blogging again. I'm still trying to figure a few things out about this whole "digital scrapbooking" thing...but I'd say I did pretty good for my first day!

Well we've been busy at the Branigan house lately. We had a busy last semester and our summer has been great! Since I don't really want to back track 6 months I'll just tell you what we've been doing lately!

Two weeks ago Kathy came for a visit and then we all headed home for the Fourth of July weekend! While we were there we enjoyed the Texas heat, the Arlington Fourth of July Parade (a family favorite) and some Fireworks! We also forgot to bring our camera home (boo) so I don't have too many pictures. However, while we were there we did manage to take some pics with my family that turned out great! (Thanks Linds!!)

We really enjoyed spending time with both of our families while we are home and can't wait to come back again soon! One year down here at Seminary and only about 3 more to do!! (Unless Chris decides to stay for his doctorate...which we just won't really think about that right now :)
