Bumpdate

How far along: 32 Weeks! Cormac weighs almost 4 pounds and is about 17 inches long. wow!
Sleep: It's been touch and go...some nights I wake up 5 or 6 times and some nights only twice. I'm learning that I need to take a short afternoon cat nap when I get home from school : )
Missing anything: Still missing turkey sandwiches...other than that nothing else really!
Food Cravings: I am so THIRSTY all the time. I have actually gone to Sonic a few times for a route 44 ice water with lime. Yum. : )
Food Aversions: No fish!
Symptoms: I really feel like last week I dove head first into the tired stage again. Also, my ankles continue to swell pretty badly by the end of each day. It's really fun : )
Have you started to show yet: I have a student in my class with autism. This morning he said to me (in all seriousness) "Mrs. Branigan...why do you always have that baby in your belly?" It gave me a pretty good laugh.
Happy or Moody: Hmm...no comment this week : )
Highlights: Our two baby showers were wonderful. We were more than blessed by my school and family/friends in Arlington. Now we just need to get it all put away and organized! I am also still loving feeling Cormac move in my belly. Sometimes I really think he is trying to break free. Last night I actually wondered if it was physically possible for his foot to break through haha. I'm sure it's getting pretty crowded in there!
Looking forward to: We have a lot of special things coming up! One more baby shower, our birth class at the hospital and our maternity pics! It's all coming so quickly...sometimes I just want time to slow down and sometimes I am just ready to meet our sweet baby.

Arlington Baby Shower

On Sunday afternoon we were blessed with another baby shower. Dianna, Jenny, Kathy, Jennifer, Liz and Elise all worked together to make it a really fun afternoon. The decorations were so adorable and they had all my favorite foods! Chicken salad sandwiches, chips and dip, chocolate cupcakes, fruit and so much more. They even put up baby pictures of Christopher and me which was so sweet. Several ladies from church came along with my friends. It was really special and again we were so overwhelmed with everyone's generosity.

Even the cupcakes were decorated so cute!

Dianna and Jennifer got us our bedding and hung up the comforter for everyone to see and to add to our alphabet themed baby shower.

 Me as a baby...
 Christopher as a baby...

Liz and Elise set up a really fun game called "Who's That Baby?" Two of the pictures were me and Chris and all the other ones were celebrities. It was pretty funny trying to guess!

Gary snuck in for some treats!!

It is hard work opening all those presents! I was one tired mama : )
Jenny was practicing her Nana skills on Jaci.

We are so thankful for everyone who came and blessed us with gifts for Cormac...it was so nice being with people who are so special to us.

3D Sonogram

For spring break we headed down to Arlington for a few days. We scheduled a 3D sonogram so we could get a little sneak peak at Cormac and so our families could join in the excitement. We headed down to Stork Vision in Mansfield on Saturday morning and had a great experience seeing our little guy. It was so special to be there with everyone we love and get to see his facial features and some of his expressions.
Logan wasn't too sure about what was going on...but he was awesome for the whole thing. The sonogram tech even commented about how well behaved he was!

 All ready to head back!
Excited to see our little guy!

The whole gang...minus Liz our fab photographer who captured all these special moments for us : ) Thanks Liz!!

It is so neat looking at his pictures! I think Chris and I were saying " he has your nose...no your lips...etc" we'll see when he actually gets here : )
I was really on the fence about doing a 3D sonogram because I thought it was just an added expense. But now, I am super glad we did it! We are getting more and more excited every day to meet Cormac.

Leawood Baby Shower

Right before spring break my sweet teammates hosted our first baby shower. It was so darling! They had yummy snacks and super cute decorations. Everything was blue for baby Cormac! Dana even decorated the cookies with a "C" for him. We got so many presents for the little guy...it was such a blessing.

All the teachers enjoying the delicious food.
Maria planned a really fun Baby Trivia game. She had questions about celebrities babies and famous babies from TV shows...it was so funny.
Our counselor, Diane, knitted this blanket herself! She also knitted a sweet little cap for Cormac. I was super impressed.

The first grade team got us our diaper bag! It is awesome!! I told everyone how Chris wanted one that was "daddy friendly" so that's why we went with the olive green one.

One cool thing we got was the monthly onesie stickers. Annabelle saw these on Etsy and snatched them up...the funny thing was that I had my eye on these exact ones! I thought somehow she knew but she said these just looked like me haha : )

When I got home that day Chris and I spent lots of time just looking at all the sweet gifts. We both were in awe of how generous everyone was and how blessed we are to have our Leawood family.

Bumpdate

How far along: 30 Weeks! Cormac is about 16 inches long and weighs about 3lbs.
Sleep: Sleeping has been ok lately. I have been getting up a TON in the night. I'm trying to have a good attitude and just know that it is preparing me for the days to come!
Missing anything: Turkey sandwiches! I could really care less about these before I was pregnant but now it just sounds so good. I know I could always heat up the meat but that just sounds gross : )
Food Cravings: Still feeling really thirsty all the time. I am torn in the middle of the night because I am so thirsty I need to drink something but I know it will only cause me to get up a few hours later. I am still loving my Simply Orange Juice with Pineapple. I realized I must be craving it because it has been on my grocery list every week!
Food Aversions: Chicken isn't sounding so good these days...unless of course it's Chick Fil A which ALWAYS sounds good.
Symptoms: Still having some major swollen ankles at the end of the day. It really doesn't bother me...just doesn't look all that attractive.
Have you started to show yet: Funny story. Chris and I went out to run errands about a week ago. We were in Hobby Lobby getting some fabric and the lady cutting it for us asked when I was due. I told her mid-may and her response was "Oh honey! You definitely aren't going to make it until then!" We both just laughed and walked away. I told Chris that I was going to add that to my book titled Idiotic Things People say to Pregnant Women.
Happy or Moody: Mostly happy! I can tell that my hormones take over sometimes...but mostly happy!
Highlights: Feeling Cormac move in my tummy is one of the best feelings ever. Especially when Chris can feel him too or see him jumping around in there. It is one of those moments where I want to stop time and burn it in my memory so I will always have with me.
Looking forward to: We have two baby showers coming up this week! I am super excited to celebrate our little man with my coworkers and our families. When we go home to Arlington we are also doing a 3d sonogram which we both are looking forward to! I am so anxious to get a peek at Cormac and I think it will be really special to have our families be able to see him too.
